Partnerships

Kiwanis Kids and Cops Day was a

success due to the collaboration of the Long Beach and Downey Police working together with the Long Beach School District, Councilman

Al Austin and the Long Beach Kiwanis Club and its partner clubs in District 13.

Here are some of our other partners----

YMCA of Greater Long Beach has partnered with Kiwanis on many

projects. Kiwanis volunteers have painted a Y Preschool, sponsored children to attend summer camp in

the mountains, donated bicycles,

put on golf tournaments, and most recently funded an outdoor garden

reading area at a local Y Preschool.

Kiwanis Club of Long Beach gave

a sponsorship grant to a student

intern to find and redirect perish-

able food from Belmont Shore

Restaurants to food serving

agencies who feed those in need

in the Long Beach Community.

So far this year, Food Finders has

collected 6.1 million pounds of food.

Boy Scouts of America have

remained our partners since

Kiwanis Club was formed.

Our club helped to build the

lodge at Boy Scouts Camp 

Tahquitz. Kiwanis Club funds  

many Eagle Scout projects.

Kiwanis Club provided a $5000 grant to support youth orchestra Musique Sur La Mer.  Talented young musicians have traveled all over the world to perform. Our financial support has assisted in providing instruments and training for children. 

Kiwanis Volunteers provide support for Salvation Army Red Kettle Days during the holidays.

During the Covid19 Virus epidemic, volunteers provided support to the food bank helping to box meals for those in need.

Kiwanis members, Irena and Dr. Gerhard Kohn, founded Young Horizons in 1967 to provide Preschool, Day Care, Reading Development and Psychological treatment for underserved children and families in Long Beach. Now there are 5 centers serving over 400 children.  Kiwanis has provided generous grants and funding to rebuild playgrounds and support on-going projects to benefit children.

Bal-Jagat-Children's World Inc., non-profit International Adoption Agency, 

for 33 years, is dedicated to uniting the orphan children of the world with permanent loving homes in the United States. Kiwanis has provided grants to assist the agency to provide adoption services.

Kiwanis Club of Long Beach has held a golf tournament to raise funds for The Children's Clinic and has donated a book in honor of every speaker who was a guest at every Kiwanis lunch meeting.  To date more than 800 books have been sent

to the Children's Clinic Library.  Kiwanis is

proud to support the clinic who cares for 

children who might not otherwise get the

proper healthcare they need.

Police Chief Luna

Child Net has been a partner with Kiwanis for many years. Kiwanis helps to donate toys and clothing for children during the Christmas season and during the partnership has provided grants for a number of Child Net projects.
